My project tests current numerical modeling approaches used to determine drainage reorganization and its effect on landscape evolution. To accomplish this, we take advantage of a natural experiment in Southwestern Montana where, with the use of LIDAR and cosmogenic nuclides data, we can quantify topography across different temporal and spatial scales, quantify erosion rate variations, and calibrate models to better explain drainage reorganization effects in landscape evolution.
