I am a post-doctoral fellow in Dr. Schieber’s group. My research interests include sedimentology and stratigraphy, sedimentary geochemistry, organic petrography and geochemistry, with a focus on organic-rich sedimentary rocks (e.g., coals and black shales).
My study of black shales ranges from organic matter molecular structure at nanometer scale to stratigraphic architecture at basin scale. I studied the Devonian New Albany Shale in the Illinois Basin during my Ph.D. study.
I am currently working on the Upper Ordovician-Lower Silurian Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation black shale succession, Sichuan Basin, China.
