Sesame Lab biogeochemists investigate the chemistry of metals (mostly in dissolved form) in the earth's lithosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere. We are interested in understanding what reactions, both biological and abiotic, govern the distribution and activity of metals on earth in the present, in the past, and in the near future.
