Course Description

Modern scientists from all fields have a core set of common tasks: data analysis, modeling, and visualization. There are a variety of software tools and programming languages suitable for doing these tasks, and each has pros and cons. Among the available tools and languages, Python is a sophisticated and intuitive programming language, with many pros and few cons, that is used by scientists in various fields for these common tasks. This course aims to teach students how to use Python as a tool for doing environment-related science. This course is targeted at undergraduates who want to build practical scientific research skills.

Class meets in person, second eight weeks only.
