Fundamentals of continuum mechanics with emphasis on the derivation and solution of governing equations in elasticity, viscous flow, heat transfer, and groundwater flow. Problems in faulting, postseismic and postglacial relaxation, flexure of strata and lithosphere, emplacement of dikes/sills, flow of debris and ice, and groundwater flow.
