Course Description

P: EAS G570, MATH M211-M212, PHYS P201 or P221 (P221 recommended), or consent of instructor. Topics may include surface-vegetationatmosphere interaction; dynamics of turbulent transport; boundary-layer dynamics; turbulent kinetic energy and stability; dimensional analysis and similarity theory; effects of surface inhomogeneity on boundary-layer dynamics; patchiness; urbanization; regional aggregation of surface atmosphere exchange; applications to mesoscale modeling and air pollution dispersion modeling.
