- Biogeochemistry Program
Provides general support of the biogeochemistry program. Expenditures may include but are not limited to, lab supplies and expenses, equipment repair, wages for technicians, stipends for graduate students, support for graduate students to attend technical meetings, hospitality, and other expenses to best support the program.
- Kennecott Exploration Tamarack Fund
This fund supports graduate research to increase the understanding of the genesis of the Tamarack Ni-Cu deposit located in Minnesota.
- Anadarko Scholarship
This gift supports undergraduate scholarships for students who have been accepted to attend a summer field geoscience course offered by the department at the Judson Mead Geologic Field Station.
- Stillwater Mining Graduate Research Fellowship
Supports research being conducted by the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences to increase understanding of the mineralization in the Stillwater complex in Montana. Expenses may include, but not be limited to, graduate fellowships and laboratory and/or field expenses.
- Geological Sciences Senior Student Support Scholarship
Supports an annual $2,000 scholarship for one student beginning his/her senior year in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences who is majoring in Geology and has the strongest research plan/proposal.
- The Louis L. Bucklin Fund for Geobiology
This fund supports advancement of the study of Geobiology. The income may be used for, but not be limited to, scholarships, fellowships, faculty support, research, library and equipment acquisitions.
- Peter S. and Susan M. Dahl Fellowship
Supports graduate fellowships in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences.
- William Post Rawles Geology Award Fund
This award supports a full-time Indiana University student (undergraduate or graduate) whose major interest is in the area Geology.
- William D. Thornbury Fund
Supports student research in physical geology with special preference for projects involving geomorphology and glacial geology. Activities eligible for support will include field expenses and other unusual costs of student research in the fields listed.
- Edward J. Grassmann Fellowship
Supports fellowships for graduate students majoring in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences with special interest in the field of clay mineralogy or clay mineral application. Expenditures are to be for the fellowship and related purposes which may include, but are not limited to, equipment purchases, supplies, travel, and other purposes connected with the fellowship.
- John and Mary Droste Geology Award Fund
Recognizes outstanding teaching assistants and/or associate instructors in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences.
- Applied Clay Mineralogy Chair
This fund supports and maintains a professorship: The Applied Clay Mineralogy Professorship. The expenditures may include, but not be limited to, a salary or salary supplement for the designated holder of the professorship, support for research, manuscript preparation, graduate research assistance, library and equipment acquisitions, and other requirements of an active scholar and teacher.
- Robert R. Schrock Professorship in Surficial/Sedimentary Geology
Supports the Robert R. Shrock Professorship in Surficial/Sedimentary Geology in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences.
- Judson Mead Professorship in Geophysics
Supports the Judson Mead Professorship in Geophysics in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences.
- Daniel S. Tudor Fellowship
Supports fellowships in geophysics or a closely allied field. The Tudor Fellowship is used to attract outstanding graduate students, or for graduate students continuing in the department, or as a dissertation year fellowship.
- Daniel S. Tudor Commemorative Lecture
Supports an annual lecture in applied geophysics. The lecture is given by a visiting scientist or scholar who engages with students and faculty in scholarly activities on campus.
- Harold V. Kaska Geology Library Endowment
This fund is used to expand the paleontological or paleontologically-related literature of the geological sciences library, through the acquisition of, or by obtaining access to materials.
- Charles J. Vitaliano Grant-in-Aid
Supports a grant-in-aid for student research on the geology and geophysics of western Montana and adjacent areas being conducted at the IU Judson Mead Geologic Field Station.
- Bill and Jan Cordua Scholarship
Supports scholarships to junior or senior students majoring in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences with a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Noel C. Krothe Hydrogeology Graduate Student Fund
Supports graduate students majoring in hydrogeology, who are presenting research at national and international meetings.
- Margaret C. and Anne Marie Kuzmitz Scholarship/Fellowship
Supports scholarships and fellowships for undergraduate and graduate students in need of financial assistance pursing a degree in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences.
- Scott and Allyson Tinker Scholarship
Supports undergraduate scholarships for field study at the Judson Mead Geologic Field Station.
- Parke Graduate Fellowship in Geological Sciences
Supports fellowships for graduate students in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences who are entering their final year of study.
- Norman R. King Graduate Field Research Fellowship
Supports fellowships for Master's or Ph.D. students in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences who are conducting field studies in the area of soft-rock geology including stratigraphy, sedimentology, and paleontology.
- Sheldon Turner Geological Science Scholarship
Supports scholarships for undergraduate students in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences.
- Leon – IUGFS Excellence in Field Geology Scholarship
Supports scholarships for students who have been accepted and enrolled in summer geologic field courses at the IU Judson Mead Geologic Field Station.
- Klusman Family Scholarship
Income from this gift be used to support an annual scholarship for an undergraduate or graduate student who has been accepted and enrolled in summer geologic field courses at the IU Judson Mead Geologic Field Station. The recipient is not required to be a full-time IU student so long as he/she meets the enrollment goals and admission standards for the field station. The recipient will be a student who best exhibits the potential to perform exceptionally well in a rigorous field geology course as determined by the field station leadership.
- Lawrence A. Taylor Student Travel Scholarship
Supports scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences who are traveling for academic purposes, such as presenting at the professional meetings.
- Life is a Ride Scholarship
Supports scholarships for undergraduate and/or graduate students who are pursuing a major in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences or have been accepted and enrolled for summer field courses at the IU Judson Mead Geologic Field Station.
- Cumings-Malott Scholarship
Supports undergraduate and graduate scholarships in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences.
