The Geology Club at Indiana University, or GeoClub for short, is a welcoming environment for students of all Earth-Science related disciplines where they can meet people, enjoy fun events, learn together, and discover new opportunities and skills that can help them on their path forward. Feel free to join us, whether you’re an undergrad, a grad, faculty, or staff! All are welcome!
Our weekly meetings
Our cookout will be this Saturday, April 24th, at noon! We will be meeting at the Tulip Tree Shelter in Brown County State Park! The shelter is ours for the day, so we'll have plenty of space to socially distance. The park is at 1801 Indiana 46 East, Nashville, IN 47448. I have also attached a map to the bottom of this email which notes the location of the shelter within the park. It's just a little ways in from the west entrance. Our shelter is located within the little red circle on the attached map. We have a playground, seating for 55, a trail head, and a nearby scenic overlook, so it should be a lovely time.
The weather for this Saturday is supposed to be in the upper 50s to low 60s, with some possible rain in the morning, so dress accordingly. The shelter will protect us from any potential inclement weather, but you will still most likely need a jacket or a hoodie as well as long pants. Hats are also recommended if you plan on hiking (not just because GeoClub and SGE have some pretty cool hats 🤠) because there may be a few early ticks out there. Remember to bring masks and hand sanitizer as well, even if you are fully vaccinated!!
